On the 4th, the online reservation platform 'Catch Table', the reservation page of Paramount Seoul appeared. Reservations have not yet begun, but they are set to be available for reservations from the 22nd, which is expected to officially resume operations on the same day.
However, the disclosed price has sparked controversy. Paramount Seoul operates only dinner courses without lunch, and is set at a high price of 420,000 won per person. It is also quite high compared to Mingles (350,000 won) who has received three Michelin stars and San (SAN, 300,000 won), which has recently attracted attention from gourmets.
This is not the only one. The colkage (drink-in fee) of Parasum Seoul is 200,000 won per table and only one bottle of wine can be brought in. Critics point out that rival restaurants Mingles and San have a higher price policy than the average fine dining restaurant in Seoul, with Kolkiji at around 150,000 won per bottle.
In addition, the fact that valet services are not provided to customers visiting restaurants is also expected to cause inconvenience. Parasum Seoul is guiding that "Please use public transportation as much as possible because parking spaces are small." However, there are many criticisms that it will cause inconvenience to customers due to its location that is significantly less accessible to public transportation.
The reservation policy is also controversial. Although reservations can be made for children over the age of 8, Parasum Seoul does not have a separate menu for children, so you have to order a course worth 420,000 won, which is the same as adults. In response, there are also complaints that it is too much to pay adult fees even for children.
When the price and operation policy of the city were disclosed, online users posted "40 bowl of rice soup "It's too expensive.", "Is it really worth it at this price?" the response continued. On the other hand, there are many opinions advocating that it is cheaper compared to overseas Michelin three-star restaurants.
In addition, the recent recruitment announcement posted by Parasum Seoul on its official SNS is also controversial. Unlike general job postings, they took a method of simply leaving an e-mail address and receiving support without specific conditions for hiring. In response, one netizen posted a notice with no recruitment information, and it's like looking at a 20th-century apprenticeship recruitment", he responded critically.
Meanwhile, the new location is known to be near the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, while Parasum Seoul is operated by Chef Ahn Sung-jae's corporation 'Mumi'.
