According to local media such as ET Today and EBC, Wang Continental was sent to the prosecution on charges of attempted murder on the 4th, but Wang Continental was released on $5 million (about 220 million won on bail), and his friend is detained and banned from visiting.
Wang recently flew back to Taiwan and called an airport pickup through a ride-hailing platform, but he was at odds with his driver because the ride-hailing vehicle fell short of his expectations. Wang's alleged attempted murder came to light last month while under investigation for draft dodging. Police and prosecutors found evidence of the owner of the assault while investigating whether Wang's mobile phone was confiscated and related clues.
Wang Continental was arrested two weeks ago on the 18th of last month for receiving false medical certificates from doctors to avoid military service and has been under police investigation. Wang Continental was later released on bail of 150,000 yuan (about 6.5 million won), and was scheduled to serve as an alternative service for a year after entering the military training center in Taichung, Taiwan on the 13th. However, local media reported that Wang's enlistment became unclear due to the addition of charges of attempted murder.
