According to Malaysian Chinese media Seongju Mang and Straits Times, a 68-year-old man named Poon Lee was arrested for renting a room in his apartment to a woman in her 20s and installing a hidden camera and recording it for two years.
He installed a total of eight cameras in women's rooms, bathrooms, living rooms, and kitchens.
The size was so small that no one noticed. He also went into a woman's room once a month, and he made excuses to change the light bulb or clean the floor every time.
The woman was uncomfortable with his behavior, but she considered it a kind gesture because she was bored to stay at home.
But in fact, it was to download the recorded video or replace the camera battery.
In fact, on his computer, there were many videos of women changing clothes and photos and videos of showers and toilets. Police estimated that there were at least 49 photo and video files, which would have been a lot if the deleted files were included.
He also reportedly linked a hidden camera with a cell phone to observe the woman in real time.
Then, the woman found a small hole in the wall under the air conditioner.
Thinking it was caused by a bug, she reported it to the police after seeing the flashlight and thinking it was a red light.
The landlord admitted his charges and apologized, but the court sentenced him to 10 months in prison in consideration of the planned and long-term crime.
