An Indian couple who were taking photos on the track were injured by jumping down a gorge to escape an approaching train.

According to local media such as India Daily, a couple in their 20s jumped into a gorge about 30 meters below when the train approached at around 12 p.m. on the 13th (local time) while taking a photo.

Witnesses said the couple were so preoccupied with filming that they didn't notice until the train approached.



When the train driver saw them, he attempted a sudden stop and managed to stop the train, but the couple jumped off the bridge to avoid being hit.

The couple who fell were reportedly seriously injured.



My husband has a spinal cord injury and is being treated in the ICU and my wife has a broken leg.

The area is said to be a popular place for photography lovers.



Local authorities said they will implement bridge access controls to prevent similar accidents.
