According to local media such as the Times of India, businessman A living in Satara, India, was arrested by airport police on the 11th (local time) while trying to catch a flight to Thailand at Mumbai International Airport.
He was on a business trip with a client when he was stopped by an immigration officer who suspected that his passport had been damaged.
His passports were attached to each other from page 3 to page 10 and from page 17 to 20. A was unable to explain to the employee why and remained silent.
However, according to a police investigation, he confessed that he had traveled alone to Thailand several times without his wife's knowledge last year and early this year, and he glued the sheets with the entry and exit records to hide them.
Eventually, his wife found out about this when he was arrested.
A police official said the situation could have been avoided if he had informed his wife about his past trips, adding that his actions at the airport led to a complicated situation.
Police booked him on charges of fraud and passport tampering under the passport law.
