In China, the automatic braking system did not work during a test drive, causing a collision with the car in front of it.

Just before the accident, a car salesperson was found to have authorized the test driver to never apply the brakes and feel the automatic braking system, sparking controversy.

The Sihwa Ilbo recently posted a video of 'Accident During a Vehicle Test Drive' released online.

In the video, the salesperson told the customer in the driver's seat to experience the autonomous driving assistance system and take his hand off the steering wheel.

"If there is an obstacle in front of you, the vehicle will brake automatically" he said in relief.

Does the customer not have to brake "?When asked ", the salesperson replied "yes".

After a while, a customer who saw other vehicles stopped in front of a traffic light was concerned that "I think I'm going to run into it", but the salesperson was confident that "Slowly slows down and will stop".

However, the vehicle collided with the car in front of it without slowing down.

In response, the customer asked "Didn't the brakes automatically apply?" and the salesperson said "I thought it would stop automatically."I was taken aback.

According to the Sihwa Ilbo, the test-drive vehicle is estimated to be the Denja D9, a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) of BYD, China's largest electric vehicle company.

Various opinions are posted online about the accident.

Netizens are responding, "The customer was nervous and braked, which caused the autonomous driving mode to be released, causing an accident" and "I will not buy the vehicle because I am nervous".

Meanwhile, the Sihwa Ilbo reported that BYD has not yet expressed its position on the case.
