Cha International Hospital President Kim Young-tak was elected president of the Asian Oceania Women's Genital Infections and Oncology Society

Cha Hospital (Director of Medical Center Yoon Do-heum) Kim Young-tak, Director of Cha International Hospital, has been elected president of the Asia Oceania Women's Genital Infection and Neoplasia (AOGIN). Director Kim will lead the conference for two years until June 2026.
Professor Kim Young-tak is an authority in the field of gynecological cancer treatment such as uterine myoma, uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer, leading human papillomavirus (HPV) research and development of uterine cancer prevention vaccines. Professor Kim Young-tak, head of Cha International Hospital and Bundang Cha Women's Hospital, has performed more than 2,300 surgeries, including cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, and ovarian cancer, while serving as a professor of obstetrics and gynecology for 34 years since the opening of Asan Medical Center in Seoul in 1989. It has played a leading role in the development of gynecological cancer treatment in Korea by presenting more than 100 research papers at domestic and international journals and conferences, including a predictive calculation of incomplete tumor reduction surgery for ovarian cancer patients and a study on the treatment effect of high-dose luteal hormone in early endometrial cancer in young women.
Professor Kim, who served as the director of the Gynecological Cancer Center at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, the director of the International Medical Center, the director of the Academy, and the president of the Korean Gynecological Oncology, conducted various academic activities at home and abroad, including being elected to the executive committee of the World Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FIGO) for the first time in Korea. In particular, cervical cancer day was established to contribute to raising national awareness and vaccination for women's cancer prevention and eradication.

Founded in 2004, AOGIN is an international conference that researches and presents the national prevention and latest treatments for female genital infections and female cancer, with 25 countries in Asia and Oceania participating as member states. AOGIN will hold an international conference at Lotte Hotel in Seoul from July 11-13. About 500 doctors and basic researchers from more than 20 countries will attend to present the latest research results in the field of early screening, prevention, and treatment of cancer under the theme of 'Empowering Women, Together Against Cervical Cancer' and publish international guidelines. In addition, domestic and foreign experts and scholars will present their latest knowledge on the prevention of men and screening methods for various HPV-induced cancers and viruses such as oral and anal cancers.
