The Daekyo Edu Camp's specialized children's psychological counseling agency, 'Dream Mentor', and the Seoul Metropolitan Government organized 'Tick! Camp' was designed to help North Korean defectors adapt well to South Korean society and become self-reliant. Daekyo Edu Camp has been conducting a learning emotional mentoring project for North Korean defectors in Seoul for three consecutive years, and supports customized education by providing both Korean language improvement ability programs and psycho-emotional programs.
A total of 100 North Korean defectors' families attended the camp, and various programs were held to develop children's social skills, including expression plays and challenge quiz shows. Parental education by Kim Yeon-soo, CEO of the Meetime Campus, for parents, and free psychological counseling and parenting tests by professional counselors were also provided.
In particular, Daekyo Edu Camp received great response by operating a counseling center where professional counselors provide answers based on 48 years of accumulated educational data and know-how. Practical help was provided to participants through systematic counseling such as ▲ child cognitive learning development counseling ▲ parenting/mother counseling ▲ free psychological testing (self-directed learning type test and parental learning guidance type test).
An official from Daekyo Edu Camp said, `This camp provided an opportunity for families of North Korean defectors to adapt well to South Korean society and gain psychological stability and confidence"We will continue to expand these programs to actively support the healthy growth of those in need of social consideration." he said.
