According to local media such as NewsCom, a stroller carrying two children fell down the platform at around 12:25 p.m. on the 21st (local time) at Carlton Railway Station in Sydney, Australia.
At the time, Anand Runwal, 40, a father, was waiting for a train with his wife and twin daughters on the platform when he briefly pulled out of the stroller, which rolled downhill and fell to the track.
As a result, the father jumped onto the track and tried to move the stroller, but at the same time, he was hit and killed by a running train.
One of the twin daughters in the stroller also died.
Rescuers and police rescued another daughter from under the train with abrasions.
Renwal, who worked in IT, reportedly moved from India to Sydney, Australia, in late 2023 with his family.
After the accident, New South Wales Premier Chris Minns said "We must not forget that the father gave his life to save the children"
Police are investigating further, saying, `It appears that the disaster occurred due to a gust of wind when I briefly took my hands off the stroller.'
