The story of a Russian man who has lived with a 9cm piece of glass embedded in him for nine years has become a hot topic.

According to local media such as the Russian edition of Newsler and TSN, medical staff at Russia's Kirov Regional Hospital recently succeeded in removing a piece of glass about 9 cm long in the liver of a 53-year-old man A.

For the previous nine years, A had sharp pain and discomfort under his right rib, but he was never tested.

As the pain intensified, he eventually visited the hospital and found a pointed object embedded in the right side of the liver as a result of a CT scan.

Doctors asked what the object was, but he said he had never been hurt and did not remember having a sharp object that could fit into his body.

The medical team immediately performed laparoscopic surgery to remove 88mm of glass.

The surgeon said "The patient was lucky"If you had purulent inflammation and abscesses, you could have had a dangerous situation," he said.
