According to foreign media such as the Daily Mail, the restaurant 'Ship and Gulzl' in Manhattan, New York, introduced a sandwich menu 'Royal With Cheese' that costs a whopping $150 (about 210,000 won). That's about $30 a bite.
The kitchen's head chef, Mike Bagel, uses a handmade cheese slice made from Japanese Wagyu tenderloin from Miyazaki and aged white cheddar to make the sandwich.
Wagyu tenderloin from Miyazaki is a high-end part sold for $1,000 for about 3.6 kg.
On top of it, a Japanese barbecue sauce made of minced onions, wasabi, smoked soy sauce, shiokoji (salt yeast), brown sugar, tomatoes, and rice vinegar is added.
Bread uses soft, cloud-like texture of Shoku bread milk bread imported from Tokyo Bakery Ginza Nishikawa. The supply price of a loaf of shoku bread is known to be $18.
The sandwich comes in a unique gold box designed by HMH Iron Design, a New York-based metal processing company.
You can also enjoy it as a set, but for an additional $50 you can enjoy a black truffle cherry soda float or a white truffle milkshake together.
