The parish that investigated this explained that the blood collected from the statue matched pig blood and was not related to spiritual phenomena.
Prior to this, a woman in Sicily named Gisela Cardia purchased a statue of Our Lady in 2016 from Mejogore, a Bosnian pilgrimage known for the so-called 'St. Mary's Expression' and returned to Italy, claiming that the statue is in blood tears.
She also said that the statue of the Virgin gave her a private revelation and magically provided endless food to the pilgrims.
At this news, many pilgrims flocked to witness the 'miracle'.
Cardia bought the site with donations from pilgrims and built a temporary chapel
Last year, however, local residents hired a private detective out of doubt. The detective gave evidence that the blood on the statue was pig blood.
The Holy See also directed the Diocese of Chivita Castellana to investigate.
The parish, which launched its investigation in May this year, has been "nothing supernatural" in about a month"We concluded. The Vatican later said on the 27th of last month that it recognized the results of the investigation.
