Man's lament for living as a 'Jaringobi' for 21 years for early retirement, why?

According to the Hong Kong media South China Morning Post, a Japanese man A started a savings plan to raise retirement funds in the early 2000s after finding a stable but high-intensity job.
With an annual salary of about 5 million yen, he decided to raise 100 million yen (about 1.1 billion won at the time) for early retirement.

His efforts paid off earlier this year when he announced on social media that he had finally saved 135 million yen (about 1.2 billion won) after working for the company for 20 years and 10 months.
After gaining financial freedom, his life improved somewhat.
Now 45, he can eat four hard-boiled eggs for breakfast and buy a microwave to enjoy hot food.
But his joy did not last long. This is because the yen's value has plunged since the beginning of this year, and savings have decreased significantly.
"If the yen continues to fall, financial freedom will not be achieved," he said. "It is useless to have suffered for 21 years. It's all pointless and tragic.'
