Nexon announced on the 15th that it has completed '2024 Nexon University Student Game Jam Funnyk' held at Nexon's headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do from the 12th to the 14th.

"It's fun" was first held in 2023 to discover and cultivate young talent in the game industry, and this year, 70 participants selected in planning, programming, and art produced games under the theme of "Island". Game planning and development staff, including Shin Min-seok, general director of the popular creative platform Maple Story World, participated in on-site mentoring and screening.

A total of four award-winning works, including the grand prize (1 team, 3 million won), the best prize (1 team, 2 million won), and the excellence prize (2 teams, 1 million won), were selected through screening by judges and voting by participants. The grand prize went to the "Polar Bear Guard" team, which developed the puzzle game of placing animals and ice islands on hexagonal sea tiles. Meanwhile, Nexon has been supporting the college game production club 『Nexon Dream Members』 since 2007, and is making various efforts to foster young talents and prospective creators in the game industry by conducting industry-academic cooperation projects with various universities in Korea using the creative platform 『Maple Story World』.
