A Chinese company has been accused of leaving its employees in a closed room for four days to leave the company.

According to Chinese media Xiang Yu News and Hong Kong media South China Morning Post, a court ruled that game developer A should pay 380,000 yuan (about 72 million won) in compensation to worker Liu.

The Sichuan District Court said the company's violation of labor laws against its employees was evident, but the company has objected.

Liu, who decided to retire in December 2022, found himself unable to log in to the company's computer system and use a pass, according to the investigation.

The company then notified Liu of his participation in 'education', and took him alone to a room on another floor, not on the floor where the usual workspace was located.

The room was without power and could not turn on the lights.

There was no computer, only a table and a chair. Cell phones were also confiscated and no work was assigned.

For four days Liu was able to leave the room 'freely', and although he was allowed to go home after work hours, it was practically a life of confinement.

An official dismissal notice was issued on the fifth day only after Liu's wife reported the company's unfair treatment of her husband to the police.

The company claimed Liu was fired for violating company policy.

He said he saw nude images during working hours and surfed unrelated websites.

However, Liu, who worked as a game art editor, refuted that the image he saw was for work purposes.

In the end, labor-management conflicts have been brought to justice.

The first trial court held in May this year ruled in favor of Liu.

The court found that confining Liu in a 'darkroom' was an illegal act in violation of the requirement that employers provide workers with an appropriate working environment under the Labor Contract Act. It also decided to pay 380,000 yuan in compensation.

Accordingly, the company is not "true to the facts. arbitrary judgment,' he said, denouncing the court.
