A man in China was fined again for paying the delinquent fine with coins.

According to local media such as SinaCom, Wang, who lives in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, was fined 20,000 yuan (about 3.8 million won) in March this year for failing to fulfill his obligations specified in the legal document.

Wang said he would pay 10,000 yuan immediately and pay the remaining amount within two days, and the court approved it.

Two days later, Wang, who appeared with his acquaintance, paid the remaining 10,000 yuan in three bags of 1 yuan coins and damaged bills.

As a result, court bailiffs and bankers had to count coins and bills for as long as three hours.

Among them, 1,400 yuan worth of coins were damaged too much to be used.

The judge judged that Wang resisted the court's execution passively and that there was no reasonable explanation for the payment in a number of coins.

An angry judge re-sentenced a fine of 2,000 yuan, saying his actions seriously affected enforcement and wasted judicial resources.

Eventually, Wang had to pay the full fine on the same day.

The court explained that if there is a similar act of intentionally interfering with law enforcement or engaging in malicious behavior, fines or detention can be imposed according to severity, and criminal responsibility can be held if a crime is committed.
