Professor Jeon Young-jin of Gyeongsang National University Hospital, 'Contributing to the Improvement of Public Health' Award for Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Gyeongsang National University Hospital (Hospital Director Ahn Sung-ki) announced on the 30th that Professor Jeon Young-jin of the Department of Otolaryngology received a commendation from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for his contribution to public health improvement by participating as a member of the National Health Information Portal Health Information Writing Committee.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is trying to provide systematic and consistent health information to the public by operating a health information provision platform through the 「Health Information Development and National Health Information Portal Operation Project」.
Professor Jeon Young-jin was in charge of completely revising the contents of non-synovitis contents in the existing National Health Information Portal, and wrote the latest information such as biological agents as well as existing knowledge related to non-synovitis-related classification, epidemiology, drugs and surgical treatment.
As a result, Professor Jeon Young-jin was awarded the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Commendation in recognition of his dedication to producing and disseminating evidence-based health information.
Professor Jeon Young-jin explained, "Synovitis, known as sinusitis, has been understood as an infectious disease in the past, but recently, the paradigm for the pathophysiology of sinusitis has completely changed, such as chronic inflammation caused by abnormal immune systems of sinuses. Accordingly, the classification of sinusitis changed and the concept of patient-specific treatment was introduced."
"I am very happy with this award, and I will do my best to provide the public with easy-to-understand and accurate information on rhinosinusitis."," he said in his acceptance speech.
