Professor Jeong Hye-kyung of Korea University's Anam Hospital Wins Outstanding Leadership Award of the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology Endocrinology

Professor Jeong Hye-kyung of obstetrics and gynecology at Korea University Anam Hospital won the Excellence Award at the 33rd Academic Conference and Training Lecture of the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology Endocrinology, held at the Yoo Gwang-sa Hall of Korea University School of Medicine on the 7th.
Professor Jeong Hye-kyung presented a presentation under the theme of 『Proteomic analysis of meniscal blood for early diagnosis of endometriosis and uterine adenomyosis』 with Professor Park Hyun-tae and Professor Ryu Ki-jin of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology and Professor Lee Ji-eun of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
The sooner endometriosis and adenomyopathy are detected, the more severe the pain can be treated before it becomes, and it can prevent it from causing infertility. Laparoscopic examination, vaginal ultrasound, or MRI examination are required for diagnosis, which has been suggested to be a factor that can cause patients to endure pain and slow down their diagnosis.
Professor Jeong Hye-kyung suggested the possibility of developing a diagnostic method that can diagnose endometriosis and adenomyopathy early through menstrual blood. Professor Hye-kyung Jeong explained that "We have optimized the method of analyzing and quantifying proteins in samples collected in the form of Dried Blood Spot (DBS)" and "Study to develop convenient and patient-friendly early diagnosis methods"."
"Currently, it is the stage of identifying specific proteins in menstrual blood for the diagnosis of endometriosis and adenomyopathy, and further research will be able to develop markers for early diagnosis of women's diseases."
