Yoo Eun-jung, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Cha Women's Medical Research Institute Seoul Station (Director Yoon Tae-ki), has obtained a clinical genetic certification given by the Korean Medical Genetics Association.
The Korean Medical Genetic Society selects doctors with expertise in clinical genetics-related research and clinical fields and qualifies them for certification. Specialists with expertise, various clinical experience, and research experience are qualified once a year through strict deliberation, and only about 70 specialists in Korea are qualified for clinical genetics certification.
Yoo Eun-jung, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Seoul Station at Cha Women's Research Institute, has been focusing on clinical genetics-related treatment and research, such as pre-pregnancy genetic counseling, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGT-M, PGT-SR) in vitro baby procedures, and pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT-A) in intractable infertility diseases such as repeated miscarriages and repeated implantation failures, so that couples with genetic diseases or chromosomal structural abnormalities can give birth to children without genetic abnormalities.
Professor Yoo Eun-jung said, `Genetic disease patients often hesitate or give up pregnancy itself. However, pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT), which examines genetic or chromosomal abnormalities in the embryonic stage, allows a healthy child to be born without worrying about the inheritance of the disease"We will do our best to ensure that pre-pregnancy genetic counseling, examination, and treatment are more professional and systematic for patients with genetic diseases or couples with a family history."
