Self-sustaining Oriental Medicine Hospital for Overseas Medical Students 'Medical Academy Internship' Completion

The internship is a clinical training program for oriental medicine to expand participants' understanding and learning of oriental medicine and incorporate it into the global integrated medicine field. The slogan of this internship was also set as 'Broaden your medical perspective with Jaseng in South Korea' in line with the purpose'.
Six medical students and prospective medical students with high academic achievement were selected from leading educational institutions such as the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the United States for this year's internship program. In addition, five students visited Korea at Mohammed bin Rashid Medical University (MBRU), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has been exchanging internships with self-sustaining oriental medicine hospitals since 2019.
This internship program consists of a variety of programs, including ▲ Chuna therapy and motion acupuncture (MSAT), taking classes in integrated medicine, ▲ attending medical treatment by medical staff, ▲ visiting major facilities including the Self-Life Medical Bio Center. In addition, they had a question-and-answer session with oriental doctors at Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital and held a daily oriental doctor experience where they worked like real interns.
In particular, participants who participated in the internship showed a lot of interest in non-surgical treatments in self-sustaining oriental medicine hospitals, such as motion acupuncture and Chuna therapy. Motion acupuncture is a acupuncture method that induces passive or active movement while placing acupuncture on the patient's main blood spot, and it quickly reduces pain by relaxing excessive muscle tension and promoting joint fluid secretion. Chuna therapy balances the body by correcting the abnormal twisted spine and pelvis as well as the surrounding muscles, bones, and ligaments.
"It was quite interesting that we could quickly see the therapeutic effect with a medical means called 'Chill' that was not seen in Western medicine," said Abrar Alsalami Mohammed bin Rashid School of Medicine student who participated in the event. "Based on the treatment skills we learned from this internship, we will be reborn as a good medical professional."

Meanwhile, Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital is leading the medical Korean Wave. Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital is the first Asian to be certified as an official conservative education provider by the U.S. Institute of Lifelong Medicine (ACCME), and is operating conservative training for overseas medical staff in about 30 countries. In addition, clinical training has been conducted for 244 students and medical staff in 18 countries from 2017 to the present. Along with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine, clinical training projects for the globalization of Korean oriental medicine are also underway, and 'self-sustaining international academic conferences' have been held every year to explore the future development direction of oriental medicine.
