'Summer's War World Arena Championship 2024' enters the preliminary round with the most appearances by any champion

On the 23rd, Com2uS unveiled the lineup of players and the qualifying matches for the 'Summer's War World Arena Championship 2024 (hereinafter referred to as SWC2024)'.
This year marks the eighth year of the global e-sports competition called the 'Summer's War: Arena of Perforation' 'SWC2024. Com2uS, which recruited participants in June, selected players based on their individual performances in World Arena seasons 28 and 29, among tens of thousands of applicants, and will start qualifying for each region online from August 3. In particular, this year, the most champions-turned-players from all time participated in the event, including 'LEST' (2023, 2019 championship), 'TARS' (2022), 'DILIGENT-YC' (2021), and 'MR.CHUNG' (2020), raising global users' expectations.
In the Asia Pacific region, a total of 32 athletes will participate, eight from four groups, including Southeast Asia, Korea, other Asia, and Japan. In Group B, which includes Korea, 'SCHOLES', which led Team Korea to victory as a captain in this year's Korea-Japan Super Match, will win the world championship, while in Group C, former champions 'DILIGENT-YC' and 'MR.CHUNG' will play big matches from the quarterfinals.
In Japan, as this year's World Final will be held in Tokyo, a 'Open Qualifier' will be held to give the venue a ticket to the final. The top eight of Japan's participants compete with the best-of-five single elimination, and the winner goes straight to the World Final. Some of the eliminated players can try again to advance to the finals through Group D qualifying. Attention is focusing on whether 'OSADASAN', who served as a caster, will be able to succeed 'TAKUZO10', who was a former SWC commentator and reached the World Final last year.
From Europe and the Americas, 16 players will play each. Famous strong players such as 'PINKROID', 'ISMOO', 'BIGV', 'TRUEWHALE' will participate, as well as 'ROSITH', which will be on the international stage for the first time in a long time since 2021, and 'LADRILLO-OS', which is aiming for the dark horse by winning the legendary tournament season 28, will participate. In addition, the winner and the runner-up who will go straight to the World Final will be determined among the eight players in China's separate trials.
Players who have passed the preliminary round will advance to the regional cup, which will be held offline from mid-September. This year's European Cup will be held in Berlin, Germany, the American Cup in Las Vegas, USA, and the Asia-Pacific Cup in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
