The Bundang Seoul National University Hospital (Director Song Jeong-han) consortium was finally selected as the consulting and project general organization for the EDCF (External Economic Cooperation Fund) project to build Tashkent General Hospital in Uzbekistan and signed this contract with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health.
The Bundang Seoul National University Hospital Consortium, consisting of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, Gansam Architecture, Muyeong CM, Easy Care Tech, and Mirae Hospital Consulting, will oversee the entire project to build Tashkent General Hospital, from the plan to establish and operate the hospital.
Uzbekistan's Tashkent General Hospital will be built in a medical cluster complex located in the capital city of Tashkent with 28,400 square meters (1 basement floor to 5 floors above ground). The total number of beds is 300, consisting of 260 general beds consisting of a heart/cerebrovascular center, a spine/joint center, a women's cancer center, and a special bed, and 40 intensive care units consisting of a circulatory system (CCU), a nervous system (NCU), a surgical system (SICU), and an internal medicine system (MICU).
Bundang Seoul National University Hospital will be in charge of consulting in the medical plan, hospital operation plan, and medical staff education and training in the hospital construction project, establishing a plan for the hospital construction for one to two years before the opening, and training local medical staff in Korea for two to three months.
In addition, it plans to maintain consulting for a year after the opening of the hospital and send hospital medical staff to the region to transfer medical technology, contributing to the training of Uzbekistan medical professionals in the future.
Song Jeong-han, director of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, said, "Just as Korean medical care has developed greatly due to the Minnesota project in the United States in the past, it is time to distribute world-class medical care to countries in need." He will lead the successful opening and operation of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital based on its excellent medical staff and know-how" he said.
Meanwhile, the total project cost for the project to build Tashkent General Hospital in Uzbekistan is $10.278 million (about 14.2 billion won), and as it is an EDCF project, it is fully financed by loans from the Export-Import Bank of Korea. The EDCF is a public fund established to support loans for industrial development and economic stability in developing countries.
