Controversy is brewing over the sight of an employee throwing passengers' luggage down the stairs at an airport.

A video of a woman who appears to be an employee of Cathay Pacific Airlines rolling down passengers' bags several times on stairs connected to the plane has been released, according to the South China Morning Post and other foreign media.

In the 15-second video, where the date and location are unknown, the employee picked up his suitcase and dropped it down the stairs.

The suitcase fell at least 10 steps down before being placed next to a pile of other luggage thrown at random.

The female employee later handled the other bags in the same way.

Foreign media explained that there is what appears to be the Cathay Pacific logo on the back of the vest she is wearing.

Also, the plane behind the video was identified as belonging to Cathay Pacific Airlines.

Netizens are asking "That's why the bag is damaged". "Why isn't there a conveyor belt to carry luggage?", "It is wrong to have employees carry their luggage directly."

In the wake of the controversy, Cathay Pacific Airways said it was sorry for the inconvenience caused to passengers", he apologized.

It added that the employee belonged to a ground operating service company and was removed from his position while the investigation was underway.

An airline official said "We will strengthen employee training and supervision to service providers to prevent this from happening again."," he said.
