It has been claimed that an Israeli aircraft that landed urgently at Antalya Airport due to an in-flight emergency requested refueling, but the authorities in Turkiye refused to do so.

According to foreign media such as the Jerusalem Post and the New York Post, an in-flight emergency occurred on June 30 (local time) on Israeli Airlines flight 'Elal LY5102' from Warsaw, Poland to Tel Aviv, Israel.

One of the passengers was in a critical condition and had to be quickly transferred to the hospital.

As a result, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing at Antalya Airport in Turkiye, and requested refueling as well.

However, authorities in Turkiye delayed the decision to approve the landing, arguing that permits were needed to fuel the plane, Israeli broadcaster Khan reported.

Since then, Turkiye has notified that it allows landing but cannot provide refueling.

As a result, the aircraft dropped off passengers and immediately flew to Rhodes Airport in Greece for about 40 minutes to receive refueling.

The current situation of the passengers in critical condition is unknown.

Meanwhile, all direct flights between Turkiye and Israel have been canceled since war broke out between Israel and Palestinian militant Hamas on October 7 last year.

Turkiye's government has been at odds with Israel, announcing in May that it would suspend all exports and imports with Israel after Israeli defense forces advanced into Rafa, Gaza's southernmost province.
