An American woman was found in an Indian forest chained.

She claimed her husband tied her to a tree for 40 days without giving her food.

According to foreign media such as NDTV and the New York Post, shepherds found a woman tied up in a dense forest in the Sindhudr district of Maharashtra, India, on the night of the 27th (local time).

Her name was Lalita Kai, 50, an American. In the bag, he had an expired visa suggesting that he had lived in India for 10 years with his US passport.

She was too weak to speak.

Police and rescue teams found a note by her side that read: "'Husband spent 40 days without food in a chained forest.'"

Mental illness drugs were found in actual belongings.

Rescuers moved her to a hospital, and police opened an investigation into the alleged murder of her estranged husband.

Police are trying to confirm whether the woman's claim that her ex-husband was chained is true. I am also checking all the allegations and information in the memo she wrote," he said.

An official said "She was severely dehydrated at the time of discovery. It was estimated that he had been trapped there for at least 48 hours."It was only after cutting down the tree and breaking the lock of the chain that tied the woman to the rescue" he said.
