According to Chinese media such as CCTV and Beijing News, at 9:58 p.m. on the 22nd, a large protruding sign installed on the first floor of a building in the city center of Fan Long District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province collapsed.
Ten people were injured when the sign hit passers-by passing by the street. Three of them, including a 6-year-old girl, were transferred to receive emergency treatment, but died, and the remaining seven are being treated at hospitals.
According to the video of the accident, large signs and structures appear to have completely blocked the walkway.
The police and authorities formed a joint investigation team to conduct field and accident investigations, and will call the building manager and the sign installer for further investigation.
