A young woman in China is known to have become permanently infertile after undergoing abdominal liposuction.

According to Chinese media such as Sina Finance and Huarongnet, Xiaomei (25, alias), who lives in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, recently underwent abdominal liposuction at a local hospital.

Standing 165cm tall and weighing 50kg, she made all kinds of efforts to lose some belly fat, but when she failed, she chose liposuction.

At the time, the medical staff said "She felt like an unacceptable perfectionist even with a little fat in her stomach."

However, when she did not menstruate after surgery, she visited the hospital again.

The doctor in charge found her ovaries contracted and became permanently infertile.

He added "Obesity and infertility are often related, but women's underweight can also be responsible", he explained.

He added that if body fat decreases rapidly, the level of estrogen, a female hormone, decreases and ovarian dysfunction occurs.

Epidemiologic data from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine show that 6% of primary infertility patients are known to be caused by underweight.

Another expert pointed out that "it is wrong to regard a skinny body as beautiful unconditionally because fat protects the uterus and ovaries ' for a woman 's little belly' is normal'".

In particular, he criticized Internet challenges such as ant waist, chopstick legs, and palm faces that create appearance supremacy.

Netizens are saying, "Health is more important than being thin", "If you want to lose weight, exercise is your best friend", "There is no shortcut to losing weight" show a reaction of the back.
