A father who fed gasoline to a 4-month-old baby has been arrested.

Edgar James Bridgemon, 24, of Paris, Texas, is under investigation for attempted infant murder, according to US media including Fox News and USA Today.

Police were dispatched on the 10th (local time) after receiving a report from a mother of a child that Bridgemon had fed gasoline to her four-month-old biological daughter.



He ran away after seeing the police and was immediately caught.

He confessed to trying to kill his son by feeding him gasoline during a police investigation.



The four-month-old baby was reportedly taken to a hospital for treatment.

The reason for the crime has not yet been told, and police said an investigation is underway.
