"Indian women are safer with ghosts than men."

Twinkle Khanna, 50, an Indian Bollywood actor and writer, criticized recent sexual violence in Indian society.

According to Indian media such as Jagran News, Twinkle Khanna mentioned the sexual assault case on social media, referring to the recent horror film 'Stree 2' which has become popular in India.

In particular, he voiced criticism of the rape and killing of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, and sexual abuse of children at a school in Badrapur, Maharashtra.

She is "50 years old. What I learned when I was young, we still teach our daughters..." he said, pointing out the female damage that has not changed.

In the meantime, "Don't go out alone, don't go out with men, even uncles, brothers, and opposite sex friends, and don't go out alone at night are what I tell my children before and now."

She then "We must ensure the safety of women in public, not keep us at home. Until then, women in this country will feel safer than men to face ghosts in dark alleys."

She emphasizes the damage of sexual assault on women because of a series of recent shocking events.

On the 9th, a female trainee doctor in her 30s working at a national hospital in Kolkata was killed following a sexual assault inside the hospital.

The suspect is said to be a volunteer who was caring for patients at the hospital.

This has led to a nationwide strike by doctors, and some practitioners have continued to protest, refusing non-emergency medical services to this day.

In addition, two kindergarten children were sexually abused in the bathroom of a school in Badrapur, Maharashtra, western India, last week.

The culprit was a 23-year-old man who was a school cleaner.

However, the children's parents and communities were infested by lukewarm measures by police and authorities, and about 2,000 people protested.

Meanwhile, more than 31,000 sexual assault cases were reported in India in 2022 alone. An average of 85 cases occurred a day.

This is a 20% increase from 2021, and the actual number of crimes is estimated to be much higher considering the low number of reports of sexual violence.
