A woman in her 20s in China was found to have severe fatty liver after steaming vegetables and grains for six months for a diet.

Liu (29), who lives in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, decided to eat steamed vegetables as a meal to lose weight, according to Chinese media such as the Sihwa Ilbo.

This was because he was diagnosed with mild fatty liver at a medical examination.

She thought it was the result of an excess of meat.

In response, she did not eat meat and filled her diet with steamed leafy vegetables and steamed grains.

At the time, she was about 160 centimeters tall and weighed about 58 kilograms.

Six months after starting the diet, she lost about 5kg and lost significant belly fat.

However, as a result of being examined again, it worsened to severe fatty liver.

She "How can I be diagnosed with severe fatty liver when I've been maintaining a vegetarian diet for the past six months and have only eaten mainly steamed vegetables?"I had doubts.

Medical staff said many people misunderstand that fatty liver only affects obese patients.

He warned that "in patients with fatty liver due to obesity, 'healthy and scientific' weight loss will help lower the fat levels in the liver.'"However, unscientific and erroneous weight loss methods can worsen fatty liver disease."

In particular, he explained that this can be the case if you are on an excessive diet and have a serious lack of protein intake.

In the case of Liu, he added that "because he has consumed very little protein and fat in the past six months.'
