According to foreign media such as Sky News and Daily Star, a man in his 30s suddenly opened the emergency exit door and went outside when a Jetstar Airlines plane from Sydney, Australia, landed at Melbourne Airport at around 10 a.m. on the 22nd (local time).
He walked over the wings of the aircraft and went down to the ground on an emergency escape slide.
He was immediately overpowered by airport staff on the ground and handed over to the police.
One passenger said "This man got up from his seat in defiance of the crew's instructions to sit down and appeared to be experiencing symptoms of delirium."
Then "When he landed, he reached for the emergency exit and opened the door. Then everyone tried to physically hold him back, shouting at him to stop, to no avail," he said.
An airline spokesperson confirmed "One passenger opened the emergency exit door after arriving in Melbourne and the slide was automatically unfolded"
