A Chinese nurse is praised for saving the life of a premature baby born during a flight.

According to Chinese media CCTV and Hong Kong media South China Morning Post, pregnant woman Jang, who was 25 weeks pregnant, suddenly gave birth in the bathroom of a southern airline flight from Haikou, Hainan Province, to Beijing on the 3rd.

Zhang reportedly boarded the plane with her four-year-old daughter to meet her husband in Beijing.

When the crew made an in-flight broadcast requesting medical assistance, Chen Shan-shan, a nurse working at the neonatal department of Hainan People's Hospital, rolled up her arms.

At the time, the newborn was a daughter, a palm-sized premature baby, and still shrouded in a tabernacle

With the help of two doctors from different departments at the same hospital, Chen wore gloves and removed the membrane of the fetus, allowing the baby to breathe.

However, the entire newborn's body looked too pale, neither crying nor breathing, and she could not feel the pulse. It was such an emergency that it did not respond to stimuli.

In response, Chen rushed to perform emergency CPR.

She also asked the flight attendant for a warm water bag to keep the child's body temperature stable.

After a while, the baby's breathing and heartbeat were stabilized.

The plane made an emergency landing at Changsha Airport in Hunan Province for the safety of babies and mothers.

Chen continued chest compressions for 90 minutes until the baby was taken to the hospital in Changsha.

She said "It wasn't until I saw the baby being taken to the emergency room that I realized my arm was paralyzed."

The baby weighed only 820g, but gained 50g in the two weeks of hospitalization.

The baby's father posted a message on social media, "Thank you for being with us at this critical moment" "We will tell the child later and the daughter will remember you forever."I thanked him.

Chen said "I didn't think much about it at the time and focused on saving the baby"The flight attendant and the two doctors deserve an audit as well."
