Purme Hospital Opens Korea's Largest Pediatric Rehabilitation Robot Treatment Center

Aug 18, 2024

The Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital expanded the largest pediatric rehabilitation robot rehabilitation treatment center in Korea on the 8th.

The existing space was reorganized to allow specialization of treatment by field, and the space was arranged to increase the convenience of the movement of patients and guardians to create a specialized treatment space unique to Purme Hospital tailored to the rehabilitation of children's life cycles.

In particular, the newly established Purme Robo Rehab Center has introduced an additional walking rehabilitation robot, one for Lokomat Pro (fixed) and one for Angel Legs M20 (worn). In addition, it is equipped with a real-time three-dimensional motion analysis system that closely analyzes walking movements and helps individual children apply customized rehabilitation treatment, a smart guide, and two upper limb rehabilitation robots (ArmeoSpring, InMotion Shoulder-Elbow Robot) that help improve upper limb function, making it the largest pediatric rehabilitation robot treatment center in Korea.

Children with walking disabilities do not experience normal walking and have difficulty walking on their own when they need to start walking, but when using walking rehabilitation robots, they can create synergies along with growth and development. By repeatedly performing certain exercises for a limited time using the robot's power and pattern, it helps children experience walking and find their own patterns.

The robot rehabilitation treatment center was created with donations from Purme Hospital donors, including funds donated by Nexon to the 「Gait Rehabilitation Robot Support Project for Disabled Children」 last year.

To commemorate the expansion of the rehabilitation treatment center and robot rehabilitation treatment center, the Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital of Purme Foundation held a ceremony for the inauguration of the new head on the 8th under the theme of 'My child's new step, robot! Let's do child rehabilitation together' with Lee Soon-woo, chairman of the hospital's board of directors, Baek Kyung-hak, president of Purme Foundation, and Lee Won-il, director of Purme Hospital.

Prior to the inauguration ceremony, Lee Won-il, the head of the hospital, said "The expansion of the robot rehabilitation treatment center in our hospital laid a foothold for children with cerebral palsy and brain lesions to improve their confidence and quality of life by experiencing walking."All the medical staff at the hospital will work hard to help our children walk out to the world at their own pace. "

The Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital has strengthened its capabilities as the nation's best children's rehabilitation hospital by expanding and maintaining school-age rehabilitation rooms and special rehabilitation rooms as well as expanding robot rehabilitation treatment centers to mark the 8th anniversary of its opening.
