A woman in her 70s was killed by a python in Indonesia.

The snake allegedly spat out while trying to swallow the woman.

According to local media such as Detik Sule, a 74-year-old woman living in Padang Rambe village in Palofo City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, was reported to the police on the 14th (local time) night that she did not return home from work.

Family members, neighbors and police searched the next day and found the woman's body in a forest near the village.

The bite marks on the head and legs were clear, and there were also wounds on the shoulders that appeared to be snake tooth marks.

Based on the condition of the body, the police assumed that it had been attacked by a snake.

When I followed the bloodstains, I found a python about 20m away with a length of 4m. Angry residents caught and killed the snake.

Police said the snake apparently attacked her and killed her, then swallowed and spat out to her shoulder.

The accident is the third death of a python in Indonesia since June.

Last month, a woman was found dead in her stomach after being swallowed whole by a snake in the town of Siteva in South Sulawesi. The 36-year-old mother went missing after she left home to buy medicine for her sick child, police said.

In June, a woman in her 40s who lived in the village of Kelempang, South Sulawesi, went missing and was found dead in the belly of a 5-meter-long python.

Local media reported that the number of pythons is increasing due to limited urban development.
