In the special race of 'Rookie Stakes@Seoul' held at Let's Run Park Seoul, the Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jung Ki-hwan) on the 25th, 'Captain PK' (Korea, Sue, 2nd generation Gray) lifted the trophy, proving that he is a unique newcomer from the cotyledons.

Thirteen second-generation racehorses, who recently debuted on the racetrack and showed extraordinary skills, threw their hat into the race to preempt the title of super rookie. It was not easy for horse racing fans to expect a winning horse because it was a match between two-year-old horses with little experience in racing.

The fastest 1,000-meter record 'Hansen Star' began to meet high expectations by taking the lead alone from the start of the race. Even in the last straight line, 'Hansenstar' seemed to continue the lead. But 'Captain PK' made its presence at the end of the race. 'Captain PK', which was pushed out of the initial struggle and developed the race at the bottom, showed the back of the race at the end of the race. "Captain PK", whose steps were revived, rose to second place at the point where the finish line was 200 meters away, and reversed "Hansenstar" at the last 100 meters, confirming the ranking as it was.

The 'Captain PK' boomerang is 'Raceday', which produced the winning horse last year 'American Breeders' Cup Classic'. Moma is a mare who has won six consecutive games since his debut in Seoul and is famous as a second-generation rookie. Indeed, 'Captain PK', a luxury lineage, was the top eight most popular among the 13 horses participating in the race, and expectations for the championship were not high. Nevertheless, 'Captain PK', who rose to the super rookie of Seoul by showing a reversal, reminded me once again that horse racing is a sport of descent.

Jockey Kim Jung-joon, who has been running steadily with Captain PK, said in an interview after winning, `I devised a strategy to follow in the middle to avoid the preceding competition in the beginning, and I think it went well together"I'm looking forward to a good performance in the 'Jubernail Series' that continues like Moma, who showed great performance."

Following last year's victory of 'LaRakei', Teacher Song Moon-gil won the 'Rookie Stakes@Seoul'trophy again this year. Last year, the stormy pursuit of 'LaRakei', which rose from last place to the front at the last minute of the race, drew worldwide attention. Teacher Song said of the race "In the beginning, I was a little embarrassed because I was behind much more than I thought, but I expected to win by seeing him overcome the sand splashing. I'm very happy to win the title with a draw following last year's 'LaRakei', and I'm looking forward to the growth of 'Captain PK'."

The full-fledged competition stage for the second-generation horses will soon begin. The first and second gates of Gyeongju will be held in Seoul and Pukyong in September and October, respectively, to determine the strongest second-generation horse. And in November, newcomers from Seoul and Pukyong will gather in the Grand Prix of the Breeders' Cup Rookie (G2).
