The Visiting Employment Support Program is a capacity-building program that strengthens the horse industry's capabilities for high school and college graduates. It is operated in the first and second half of the year, and 104 people participated in the first half of last year. In the second half of this year, a total of seven times will be held for 65 students from seven schools who wished to receive employment support programs.
The Korean Racing Authority, which oversees the program, has strengthened on-site practical guidance from this year beyond the existing counseling and special lecture format. High school students will be provided with one-point lessons to strengthen their practical skills, and college students will be provided with employment support and a place to communicate with experts. It is expected that practical help can be provided through the operation of customized programs that take into account the competencies and circumstances of each student.
Seven experts from each field of the horse industry, including the former national equestrian team and the winner of the Korean Derby (G1), will participate as instructors in the program. Instructors with specialized knowledge and abilities such as horse racing, horseback riding, and rehabilitation riding will be assigned according to the demand of educational institutions.
Lee Jin-wook of Gyeongbuk Natural Science High School, where the first support program for the second half of the year was held on the 23rd, said, "This program was a great inspiration for students and helped them understand the horse industry as well as strengthen their capabilities."," he said.
Bang Se-kwon, Vice Chairman of the Korean Horse Association and Head of the Horse Industry Division, said "As an organization dedicated to fostering the horse industry, the Korean Horse Association will expand and operate the program to foster professionals in the horse industry to develop students' capabilities and create continuous jobs."
