At a recent 'Clash of Blames' chess competition in London, England, security guards searched the players' ears, anus and other parts of their bodies with metal detectors, local media Daily Star reported.
The move is part of increased security measures after allegations that chess grandmaster Hans Niemann, 21, cheated through a wireless vibrating anus prosthetic device.
Niemann's alleged irregularities came after he won a match against world chess champion Mangnus Carlsen, 34, in September 2022.
After the defeat, Carlsen claimed that Niemann's cheating was suspected.
However, a ChessCom investigation found no evidence of Niemann's cheating in offline matches.
Niemann filed a lawsuit with the court in October last year, claiming that Carlsen and ChessCom defamed him.
The court did not accept Niemann's claim.
Since then, as suspicions of cheating by some players have been raised in the chess world, metal detectors have been used at the London tournament.
