On the 11th (local time), a Korean man in his 40s jumped into a river and died in Thailand.

According to local media such as Channel 7 and Chiang Mai News, a fisherman living in northern Chiang Mai witnessed a foreign man spraying cash and jumping into the Ping River.

The fisherman claimed that the man who came on the tuk-tuk (a three-wheeled vehicle made from a modified motorcycle) took off all his clothes, took out his laptop from his backpack, damaged it, threw cash around him, and walked into the river with a broken laptop.

Police and paramedics who were dispatched after receiving a report searched the neighborhood for 12 hours but could not find the man. His clothes, shoes, bags, and some Korean bills were found on the riverbank.

Then, the next day, around 2 p.m. on the 12th, the body was found about 1km away.

He was a 44-year-old Korean man named Won.

Police said initial autopsy showed no signs of injury or defiance. Accordingly, the police assumed that the man ended his life on his own due to stress or personal problems.

The authorities have informed the Korean consulate and are investigating to find out the truth.
