Migraine headaches are one of the top 10 diseases selected by the World Health Organization (WHO).

It appears more in people with brains that are more sensitive than the average human brain.

Migraine is a disease that causes headaches when the brain is stimulated by certain factors and CGRP (neurotransmitter) is released from the nerve end. It is commonly known as a disease that occurs on one side of the head, but this is incorrect information caused by interpreting Chinese characters as they are. Migraines occur on both sides of the head, not on one side, and show various symptoms, such as throbbing pain like a pulse, difficulty staying in a bright place like photophobia, or being sensitive to sound, causing headaches and then getting better.

The main symptoms of migraine include ▲ throbbing pain like pulse beating ▲ dizziness, vomiting symptoms ▲ hypersensitivity to light or sound ▲ headache that recur repeatedly.

Unlike general brain diseases, migraines are not diagnosed by detailed examinations such as CT, MRI, or cerebral blood ultrasound, but are diagnosed based on individual symptoms. As a result, diagnosis and treatment may be delayed, and in most cases, when a headache occurs, it is resolved with a pharmacy painkiller, which can cause 'drug overdose headache', so accurate diagnosis and treatment by medical staff is important.

Cho Jin-hyuk, director of the Brain Neurology Center at Suwon Nanuri Hospital, said, `In the past, migraine patients did not have drugs dedicated to migraine, so they prescribed drugs such as high blood pressure, epilepsy, and depression. Since these drugs were not originally developed for the purpose of treating migraines, they had the disadvantage of being insignificant in some cases"Currently, injection treatments such as Azovi and Amgelerty are prescribed, but the prevention drug 'Aquipta', which is the same ingredient as injection treatments, has recently expanded the choice of treatment for migraine patients."

In May, for the first time in Asia, the same ingredient as migraine injections was introduced in Korea. CGRP (neurotransmitter) is a substance that acts on two pathologies of migraine: vasodilation and neuroinflammation, and the news of the domestic warehousing of Aqibta, a CGRP-targeted treatment that blocks it, was good news for migraine patients. Aquipta, taken once a day, reduces brain excitement when taken daily, regardless of migraine occurrence, and studies have shown that migraine has not occurred for 12 weeks.

If migraines are left unprevented, even small irritations can cause headaches, accompanied by headaches, depression, and sleep disorders. In particular, in the case of sign migraine, migraine prevention is essential because it is known as a risk factor for stroke.

Manager Cho Jin-hyuk said, `Since migraine is a disease that interferes with daily life, if symptoms such as frequent vomiting and fear of light are accompanied, you should seek medical attention from a neurologist. It is recommended that regular consultations correct wrong lifestyle habits such as drinking, smoking, caffeine intake, and substance abuse and select appropriate treatment options."

He then advised "Headache can be caused by other causes such as brain disease, so if the headache persists, you should visit a medical staff and treat it through accurate diagnosis.".
