According to Chinese media such as China Dotcom, a lawyer released investigative data on theft, insults, and intentional damage to the body online on the 8th.
The data was prepared on May 23 this year by the Public Security Bureau of Taiyuan City, Shaanxi Province, and stipulates that the case should be transferred to the prosecution of Taiyuan City for examination and prosecution.
According to the data, a bio company is accused of illegally purchasing dead bodies as raw materials and producing a 'isogenic bone graft material' product.
It was found that the company made a total operating profit of 380 million yuan (about 73 billion won) from 2015 to 2023.
In the process of investigating the case, the police reportedly seized the raw materials of the human skeleton of the related company, 18 tons of semi-finished products for human transplantation, and 34,077 finished products.
It also froze more than 100 million yuan (about 19.2 billion won) in funds related to the company and 60 million yuan (about 11.5 billion won) in assets such as insurance funds, and seized 16 real estate and 29 cars.
The case involved thousands of illegal carcass thefts and sales, the data states.
A total of 75 criminal suspects are involved in the case, who work at bio companies, university hospitals, medical schools, and funeral homes.
They are all said to admit to the crime.
The lawyer who disclosed the data claimed that the case data was obtained from an acquaintance and that the data was true.
However, he said he was not a lawyer in the case.
