A woman in her 20s in China underwent surgery to remove part of her intestine after suffering from chronic constipation for more than 20 years.

According to Chinese media such as Jining News, Wang (pseudonym, 29), a woman living in Hangzhou, suffered from chronic constipation almost every day for more than 20 years.

The stomachache was so severe that I only defecated once a week that I tried various methods, but constipation got worse.

Eventually, the stomach gradually swelled, and the pain that seemed to burst continued, so I went to the hospital. As a result of the examination, he was diagnosed with 'Ecient giant colon'.

Inborn colorectal disease, also called 'Hirschsprung's disease', is a disease in which nerves are not properly distributed in the intestine and do not normally defecate.

Her severe abdominal pain was presumed to be due to necrosis of the colon caused by intestinal obstruction, and emergency surgery was performed.

The medical staff had to hold it with both hands because the colon covered the entire abdominal cavity like a 'giant python'.

The intestinal necrosis has already progressed and the intestines of about 1m have to be removed.

The doctor advised that the most typical symptoms of giant colon are abdominal distention, refractory constipation, and colon bloating"Most constipation can be alleviated by proper dietary control or simple conservative treatment, and if you have refractory constipation like her, you should be examined and treated at a specialized hospital as soon as possible."
