According to the Daily Mail and other foreign media, a 22-year-old woman, Ariatna Liszt Mata Esparza, collapsed earlier this month while doing a barbell squat at a gym in Torreon, Mexico.
Rescue teams were dispatched to provide first aid, but the woman eventually died.
Police said the excessive weight of the barbell may be due to the excessive weight of the barbell. However, it is not known how many kilograms of barbells she held.
Considering that the average woman can hold about 70 kg and do one squat, she is estimated to have held more than 100 kg of barbells.
Autopsies revealed that the cause of death was anaerobic (with too little oxygen in the blood).
Anoxemia can occur due to intense physical activity, especially at high elevations with low oxygen levels. Torreon is located at an altitude of about 1100m above sea level.
Anoxemia causes symptoms such as shortness of breath, fast breathing, cyanosis of the skin turning blue or purple, and increased heart rate.
In serious cases, brain damage or organ failure due to lack of oxygen in the blood can be fatal.
It is not known whether she has an underlying disease, but she is said to have no heart problems.
