6 dead, dozens injured in major car accident on bridge to work

A car accident on a bridge in China caused dozens of casualties.

According to Chinese media such as CCTV and Xinhua News Agency, a traffic accident occurred at 7:45 a.m. on the Lu Song Bridge in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, killing six people and injuring dozens more.

The injured are reportedly taken to hospital for treatment and are not life-threatening.




The accident occurred when a taxi hit the back of a white car driving on a bridge with a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour.

The crash lost control of the car and collided with several vehicles running over the opposite lane.

Shortly after the accident, the bodies were everywhere, and the injured screamed and turned into a chaos. Also at the scene were parts of the vehicle that had been devastatedly broken.




Most of the victims are said to have been on their way to work or school. Among the dead were twin children who were reportedly going to school.

Police are investigating the taxi driver who caused the first accident to determine the exact cause of the accident.
