According to foreign media such as the New York Post, a Delta Air Lines plane that left Boston on the 30th of last month (local time) made an emergency landing an hour after takeoff.
The plane, which was bound for Rome, Italy, landed at New York's JFK Airport, and 281 passengers were transferred to another plane.
The reason for the return was one passenger's 'severe' diarrhea.
Delta Air Lines only mentioned "Medical problems for passengers during operation" but did not disclose details.
However, one netizen claimed "It was related to a passenger with severe diarrhea in the seat of the plane."
The aircraft was cleaned and disinfected and resumed operation about 20 hours later.
A Delta Air Lines official said "We apologize to passengers for the flight delay."All the passengers on the other plane arrived safely at their destination" he said.
