Sep 03, 2024

Daedong Hospital (Hospital Director Lee Kwang-jae) announced that it has developed a telemedicine platform to conveniently receive excellent medical services from Korea in Mongolia and successfully completed a demonstration in Mongolia on the 2nd.

Daedong Hospital International Medical Center, which successfully opened a telemedicine center in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia last year, was recently selected as the '2024 Busan Medical Technology Exchange Promotion Support Project' organized by the Busan Metropolitan Government and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and developed a platform for the telemedicine center advancement project in agreement with The Zone Bizon

Cloud service-based The Zone Biz on WEHAGO H enables high-resolution and high-quality communication in real-time anytime, anywhere regardless of distance, location, or device, enabling smooth medical communication such as diagnosis, treatment plan establishment, prescription, and cooperation with domestic medical institutions, and strengthening medical information data management with encryption technology.

The demonstration was attended by Kim Young-joon, director of the International Medical Center at Daedong Hospital (Orthopedic Surgeon), team leader Park Sang-hee, coordinator Shin Jun-han, Mongolian interpreter Lee Soo-jung, Manaltrade representative, Mongolian Railway Hospital Erkegul Hospital, and several medical staff.

Through a real-time connection between the railway hospital in Ulaanbaatar and Daedong Hospital in Korea, Lee Ji-min, head of the joint center (orthopedic surgeon), treated Mongolian patients who wish to operate in Korea due to shoulder pain through a telemedicine platform.

Lee Ji-min, director of the center, smoothly communicated the patient's pain location, intensity, type, and past medical history through a Mongolian interpreter and observed the range of motion of the shoulder through the screen.

As a result of reviewing the results of basic and imaging tests conducted at the railway hospital together, it was diagnosed as shoulder tendon rupture, and a treatment plan was established accordingly with the railway hospital.

Lee Ji-min, head of the Joint Center, said "Through the new platform, telemedicine could be conducted more stably than in the past.""We will continue to cooperate with Mongolian railway hospital medical staff to ensure that Mongolian patients who are unable to receive professional treatment due to medical access problems can receive high-quality medical services in Korea through telemedicine centers ""
