A drone flew into an airport in China and completely banned taking off and landing, causing great inconvenience to passengers.

According to Chinese media such as Jimu News and China Dotcom, an illegal drone was spotted over Tianjin Binhai Airport at around 7:30 p.m. on the 11th.

As a result, the airport took emergency measures and banned the plane from taking off and landing. By 11 p.m., 29 flights were delayed, eight were canceled, and a total of 3,000 passengers were affected, with 32 returning to other airports.

Take-off and landing resumed normally from 6:10 a.m. on the 12th, the next day.

Authorities are reportedly trying to figure out the drone pilot.

Meanwhile, according to Chinese law, a fine of less than 500 yuan is imposed if a small flying vehicle such as a drone is flown from a controlled area without approval.

However, if the situation is as serious as this incident, a fine of between 1,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan may be imposed.

In addition to criminal penalties such as detention, some civil liability should be held in the event of economic losses to airlines and passengers.
