In the UK, there was a purchase warning for 'fake vodka'.

According to foreign media such as Daily Star and Manchester Evening News, the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) urged people to be careful of fake vodka that may contain industrial solvents.

Authorities said they discovered 35 bottles of counterfeit vodka marked `Glenn's Vodka' and that the vodka has a strange smell and taste compared to the real product.

The vodka caught were found to contain isopropyl alcohol.

Isopropyl alcohol is an industrial solvent and cannot be consumed by humans.

It has strong sterilization properties and is widely used in disinfectants. It is also used in adhesives, paint solvents, and cleaning agents.

Ingestion of isopropyl alcohol can lead to instantaneous alcohol intoxication, and nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, respiratory suppression, and coma can occur.

Severe cases can lead to death.

The FSA urged people who drink fake vodka and are unwell to seek medical help immediately.

In addition, the FSA has begun inspecting manufacturing-related facilities.

The genuine bottles of the Scottish-made Glens vodka have laser-embroidered codes between the rear label and the floor, and the floor also has markings indicating the size, height and ID number of the bottle.

It also added that "If it contains isopropyl alcohol, it smells so strong that it will be easily recognized."
