Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University said, `Korean residents all over the world reported a lot about the distortion of the Great Wall of China, and we were able to confirm the distortion of history that extends to Pyongyang, North Korea" he said.
Professor Seo pointed out that the biggest problem is that the map files of the Great Wall on Wikipedia are being spread through various social networking services (SNS) around the world.
It is known that the Great Wall was first built during the Qin Dynasty to prevent the invasion of nomadic peoples in the north, and most of the remaining walls were built during the Ming Dynasty after the 15th century.
In addition, the Great Wall, which is about 6352 km long, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
However, after the Northeast Project, it increased to 8,851km in 2009 and 21,196km, including the fortress built by Goguryeo and Balhae in 2012, and now extends to Pyongyang.
In response, Professor Seo said "First, I will send a protest mail to fix Wikipedia's distorted information about the Great Wall."
