Hallym University Han Kang Sungsim Hospital ranks first in the 4th patient experience evaluation, recording the highest score ever

Han River Sacred Heart Hospital (Hospital Director Heo Jun) of Hallym University was selected as the number one nationwide with an average of 95.33 points in the results of the 「4th Patient Experience Evaluation" released by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service on the 5th.

Patient experience evaluation has been conducted since 2017 by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service to promote the spread of patient-centered medical culture and improve medical quality. Through this, it is possible to evaluate from a patient's point of view whether the hospital respects the patient and provides medical services corresponding to the patient's needs, preferences, and values (patient-centeredness). The evaluation items are divided into six categories: ▲ nurse area ▲ doctor area ▲ medication and treatment process ▲ hospital environment ▲ patient rights guarantee ▲ overall evaluation.

The evaluation was conducted by a mobile web survey for about five months from August to December 2023, and involved 64,246 adult patients who were hospitalized for more than a day in a total of 374 general hospitals and general hospitals nationwide.



Hallym University Han River Sacred Heart Hospital ranked first in the fourth patient experience evaluation with 95.33 points, far exceeding the overall average score (82.44 points) of 374 hospitals (45 high-end general hospitals and 329 general hospitals) nationwide. This is the highest point in patient experience evaluation ever.

In particular, Hallym University Han Kang Sungsim Hospital recorded the highest score in the country in four categories: ▲ nurse area (96.12 points), ▲ doctor area (95.25 points), ▲ hospital environment (96.05 points) ▲ overall evaluation (97.05 points). In addition, it was selected as the most satisfied hospital for patients, far exceeding the average score in the ▲drug and treatment process (95.15 points) ▲ patient rights guarantee (92.36 points).



Hallym University Han Kang Sungsim Hospital has been striving to increase patient satisfaction, focusing on the appropriate medical support team. In particular, patient satisfaction was improved by selecting 'CS leaders' for each department. The selected CS leaders set patient-centered communication goals by reflecting the characteristics of each department's work and promoted smooth communication between medical staff and patients.

In addition, ▲ patient-centered medical services were implemented through 1:1 customized patient safety training for inpatients, ▲ self-survey monitoring of patient experience assessment ▲ on-site monitoring of patient safety indicators ▲ training of personnel dedicated to patient safety.
