Two international invited races were held at Gwacheon Beol on the 8th to accept the challenges of overseas racehorses for the right to participate in the 'U.S. Breeders' Cup' finals along with the highest prize money for Korean racehorses. First of all, last year's winning horse, Japan's 'Remake' (Japan, 5 years old, Su, Kojimaeda, Shintani assistant teacher, Kawada jockey), won the 6th race in Seoul.
The gate opened with a sign of departure, and Korea's 'Veal Star' quickly took the lead. The United States' 'Anarchist' and Japan's 'Jasper Krone' immediately reversed it and led the race by forming the lead. Defending champion 'Remake', who had been saving power in the middle, accelerated the pace in the last four corners, and took the lead at 100m just before the finish line, confirming the ranking.
Japan's Jasper Krone came in second and the American anarchist came in third, and Korean racehorse officials and more than 27,000 horse racing fans gathered on the stands felt the world's high wall.
In the ensuing seven-race race 'Korea Cup', Japan lifted the trophy last year 'Crown Pride' (Japan, 5 years old, Sue, Teruyoshi) Mazu, assistant teacher Shintani, and jockey Yokoyama) again secured the championship with superior skills.
With 11 racehorses kicking out of the gate with the starting signal, 'Crown Pride', which started from the outermost gate 11, gained pace from the beginning and dug inside to take the lead. The race was followed by Korean racers, including the 2023 Korean Race Year Representative Horse 'Winnersman', 'Bixgo' and 'Black Warrior', and the race entered the middle of the year.
The leading horse 'Wilson Tesoro', who ranked fourth in this year's Dubai World Cup, accelerated his pace in the mid-range group and saw a chance to turn the tables just behind 'Crown Pride'. Contrary to concerns that the pace may be insufficient because he raised his pace from the beginning, 'Crown Pride' was the first to stick his nose to the finish line, widening the gap until the end. Second place was followed by Japan's 'Wilson Tesoro', third place by Korea's 'Global Hit', and fourth place by Japan's 'Light Warrior'.
The awards ceremony, held immediately after the race, was held with cheers from Japanese horse racing fans celebrating the victory of their own racehorses. The Korea Cup and the Korea Sprint Trophy were awarded to the winner, assistant teacher, and jockey. Joshua, vice president of Breeders' Cup in the U.S., personally presented commemorative plaques to the two winning faces, meaning the right to participate in the Breeders' Cup.

`Honestly, my pride has been hurt a lot since last year,' Kim Hye-sun said. `I wanted to narrow the gap with overseas racehorses a little bit, and I'm glad I beat a Japanese horse with a `global hit' this year"I think it's the homework of Korean horses to narrow the gap with top racehorses abroad."
Recently, the global performance of Japanese racehorses has been devastating. In February, at the 4th 'Saudi Cup' held with the world's best prize money, Japan's racehorse 'Pantarasa' won the title, and the Japanese horses who participated together ranked third, fourth, and fifth, sweeping the top ranks. At the Dubai World Cup held in March, Japan's 'Uba Tesoro' lifted the trophy and proved itself to be a horse racing powerhouse in name and reality through consecutive wins.
However, Japanese horse racing has also suffered from growing pains in the process of reaching its current position. Like Korea's 'Korea Cup', Japan has continued the international invitation race 'Japan Cup' since 1981. Japan gave the trophy to racehorses in the United States and Ireland for three years from 1081, when the competition began.
Japanese racehorses won consecutive championships in 1984 and 1985, but over the next six years, overseas racehorses swept the championship again and had to taste the bitterness. Despite the painful defeat, Japanese racehorse officials continued their expeditions to challenge major overseas races, introducing excellent seed horses to produce stronger racehorses, while building large-scale training facilities for systematic development. Japanese racehorses, who have grown up with this, are now active in the world and have won the Japan Cup for 18 consecutive years.
An official from the Korea Racing Authority said, "Today's defeat is painful, but it has become a valuable experience to confirm the current status and lack of Korean horse racing in the world. We will continue to grow with today's defeat so that Korean horse racing can play an active role on major stages in the world beyond winning the Korea Cup."," he said, expressing his determination.
